“CAMANAVA Launches Oplan Police Mascot –
Ambassadors of Goodwill and Influencers of Change”

 

     The Northern Police District officially launches the use of POLICE MASCOTS as Ambassadors of Goodwill and Influencers of Change, in the different police units in the CAMANAVA area, with no other than Police Director Lina C Sarmiento, Dir. Directorate for Police Community Relations, as guest of honor, on January 20, 2014.

     The employment of POLICE MASCOTS in the different CAMANAVA police stations aims to redeem intimacy between the police and community; develop positive perception in the minds of people that policemen are their friend and could be depended upon for security and protection; foster sustainable awareness campaign in the community against all forms of criminality; and provide opportunity for the public to unite with the police force.

     These POLICE MASCOTS can be seen in different areas/communities within CAMANAVA, such as malls, schools and highly populated areas, to foster friendship between the police and the public.

     Police Chief Supt. Edgar Layese Layon, DD, NPD saw the need for these POLICE MASCOTS as part of crime prevention and advocacy efforts of promoting police community relations, thereby improving community safety awareness through community oriented and rights-based policing.

TOP MOST WANTED PERSONS ARRESTED

     On April 30, 2013 at Blk 3F, Lot 25, Phase 3E1, Bgy 14, Dagat-dagatan, Caloocan City, combined elements from DSOU and DAID were served a warrant of arrest against the No. 1 MWP in Northern Police District and Malabon City identified as MICHAEL IGNACIOo y BAREO a.k.a. MICHAEL BULAG, of Blk 13, Lot 19, PH 2, Area 3, Longos, Malabon City, by virtue of warrant of arrest for Robbery (Hold-Up) with CC-38768MN. During conduct of operation and serving of warrant of arrest , suspect armed with unknown caliber of firearm shot one of the operatives,. Prompting the other operatives to retaliate then, hitting the suspect IGNACIO in different parts of his body.

      Arrest of MARIO BASANGAN y SOLIMAN @Bogs, 36 yrs old, single, laborer, native of Tarlac and resident of #694 Bario Libis Baesa, Brgy 160, Caloocan City.   Suspect was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for Kidnap-for-Ransom docketed under CC@ 3719-09 issued by RTC Br 68, 3rd Judicial Region, Capas, Tarlac dated January 9, 2009.  The arrested suspect is listed in the Most Wanted Person with corresponding reward oh Php140,000 for his capture under DILG Memorandum Circular Number 23010-54 dtd June 29, 2010. “TWO SUSPECTS INVOLVED IN LBC ROBBERY HOLD-UP ARRESTED BY CALOOCAN PNP”
January 21, 2014

     Caloocan PNP neutralized a robbery hold-up group that victimized a branch of LBC express delivery center located at 1604 Rizal avenue extension, Caloocan city last January 7, 2014.during the heist, two (2) unidentified male factors armed with unknown caliber of firearms divested the establishment of cash collection amounting to php8,385.00 and immediately fled using motorcycle as their getaway.

     That on January 20, 2014, Caloocan city police station led by PSI Enrique a. Torres, sub-station 2 commander, under the overall supervision of PSSUPT Bernard C Tambaoan, COP, Caloocan CPS, conducted a follow-up operation based on a lead from an informant regarding the whereabouts of suspects involved in the above incident.

     During the operation two (2) suspects were immediately apprehended by lawmen and were identified as Mark Joseph Dela Cruz Sarcilla alias Barok, 26 years old, single, jobless and a resident of block 2-b, lot 17 Carville homes , brgy Hulog Duhat, Malabon City and Charben Oliveros Duarte alias jersey, 20 years old, single, jobless and a resident of no. 379 Northbay Boulevard, Navotas city.
